The Ombudsman Visits Injured Police Officers At The University Hospital

The Ombudsman visits injured police officers at the University Hospital

The Ombudsman, Endrit Shabani, visited the State Police officers who were injured during the protest in front of the Parliament in the hospital this evening.

Mr. Shabani emphasized that the physical integrity of law enforcement officers on duty is inviolable. Violence is unacceptable, and anyone who uses or encourages it must be held accountable before the law.

The Ombudsman condemns any act of violence during today's developments, by whomever it comes, whether against citizens or against police officers.

In fulfillment of the constitutional mandate, the Ombudsman recalls that the right to assemble is a pillar of democracy and must be exercised peacefully. Any act of violence harms the civic protest itself and violates the right of those who want to protest peacefully.
