The Ombudsman, Mr. Endrit Shabani, received on an official visit the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Albania, H.E. Mr. Reinout Vos, to confirm mutual cooperation.

During the meeting, Mr. Shabani presented his vision for an efficient and accountable institution. He emphasized the increase in speed in handling complaints and ensuring the proactive role of the Ombudsman. The main goal is to exert strong legal and institutional pressure on any entity that violates or ignores the rights of citizens.

Ambassador Vos praised the new energy in the management of the institution, describing the Ombudsman as an essential partner for the protection of democratic values. He congratulated Mr. Shabani on his appointment and confirmed the support of the Dutch government for joint projects.

In the context of this readiness, the possibilities of cooperation through the instruments offered by the Dutch government regarding the protection and respect of human rights were discussed.
