The Ombudsman, Mr. Endrit Shabani, received today in an official meeting the Ambassador of Canada to Albania (non-resident), Ms. Elissa Golberg.

During this meeting, the interlocutors shared assessments on the importance of bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of independent institutions in Albania.

Mr. Shabani introduced Ambassador Golberg to the current priorities of the Ombudsman institution, emphasizing the protection of human rights, increasing public transparency and institutional accountability.

For her part, Ambassador Golberg praised the vision of the new Ombudsman and expressed her readiness to support the implementation of Mr. Shabani’s platform.

The parties expressed their full willingness to deepen communication and explore joint projects in the interest of strengthening democratic standards.
