Today, the Ombudsperson Institution joins the United Nations’ global call to end all forms of violence against women and girls.

This year, the UN’s attention is focused on a growing threat: digital violence – from online harassment and stalking, to the publication of intimate images without consent, hate speech and other forms of abuse in virtual space.

In an era where our lives increasingly take place on digital platforms, the protection of women’s rights must be as strong online as offline.
