Twinning is a European Union instrument for institutional cooperation between EU Member States and beneficiary countries aiming at providing assistance to candidate or neighbouring countries in the process of accession to the European Union. More particularly, the Twinning in Albania is intended to support our country in the areas of institution building, administrative reform and alignment of national legislation with the EU acquis communautaire.

“Support to the People’s Advocate and promotion of human rights in Albania” is a Twinning project implemented between Austria and Albania, funded by the European Union in the framework of EU Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) instrument.

In this Twinning Project, the People’s Advocate (PA) co-operates with the Austrian Ombudsman Board and is supported by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights.
