Ombudsman: No Discriminated Citizen Can Be Left Alone By Institutions

Ombudsman: No discriminated citizen can be left alone by institutions

The Ombudsman is building the institution’s capacity to handle complaints and monitor public institutions according to the highest European standards in protecting citizens from racism and discrimination.

Representatives of the institution, together with the Commissioner for Protection from Discrimination, completed a specialized program on the fight against racism and discrimination. Through it, the Ombudsman’s team deepens the practical implementation of the principles of equality in everyday work with citizens.

This commitment also responds to the findings of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI), which have emphasized the need for stronger institutional capacities in Albania. The program was developed with the support of the European Union and the Council of Europe.

The Ombudsman remains committed to ensuring that every discriminated citizen finds an institution that listens to them and acts.
