The Ombudsman, Mr. Endrit Shabani, received in an official meeting the Ambassador of Spain to Albania, Mr. Gabriel Cremades.

He congratulated Mr. Endrit Shabani on his newly-started assignment, while the Ombudsman thanked him for the continuous support that Spain provides to our country.

This meeting marks another step towards strengthening our bilateral relations, on the eve of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

With the mutual increase in tourism and human exchanges, the necessity of guaranteeing and protecting the rights of Albanian citizens in Spain and Spanish citizens in Albania was emphasized.

Ambassador Cremades reconfirmed Spain's unwavering support for Albania's membership in the European Union, appreciating the reforms undertaken and the progress based on merit.

The Ombudsman Institution remains committed to being a bridge in the protection of human rights, supporting complex reforms that bring our country closer to the European family.
