Endrit Shabani In Vlora, The Ombudsman Puts The Institutions Before The Citizens

Endrit Shabani in Vlora, the Ombudsman puts the institutions before the citizens

The Ombudsman, Endrit Shabani, held an open dialogue forum in Vlora today, where citizens raised their concerns in a communication with representatives of local government, government institutions and the heads of the Vlora Court and Prosecutor's Office.

The discussions were dominated by the issue of property and the decision to relocate the Cadastre office to Tirana, which forces Vlora citizens to travel for their files.

Concerns were also raised by the families of merchants who are being displaced by reconstruction projects without legal guarantees to return, as well as about the integration of the Roma and Egyptian minorities and the need for more social services for people with disabilities.

In his closing remarks, Shabani stated:
“Property rights are not simply numbers on cadastral cards and registers. Behind every property blocked by ownership conflicts lies the work, history and sacrifice of a family.”

In conclusion, Shabani asked all participating institutions to designate dedicated contact points for complaints from Vlora citizens, so that every issue receives a prompt and legally based response.
